TV fans list shows so perfect they “can’t rewatch”

What shows would be on your list?

TV fans have been sharing a list of shows that they found so perfect, they now “can’t rewatch” them again.

In a new post on Reddit, a thread begun under the heading: “What is one of the GOAT shows that you can’t rewatch for whatever reason?”

Fans responded, listing shows they considered to be some of the greatest of all time with perfect endings – so much so, they never want to rewatch.

One user, ‘crazycalv’ declared theirs as Six Feet Under, writing: “it’s too much to take again and the ending is perfect.”

Another, ‘bryndenrivers3ec’, said it was Succession, writing: “Very well made, but a gloomy ending.”

‘thenumbwalker’ said their show was The Wire. “Watched it all the way through probably 7-8 years ago,” they began. “It was amazing and I was completely affected by it. I wonder sometimes if I have it in me to watch it again. I think I remember enough that I would feel less anxious, but there were so many cruel truths and outcomes, I just don’t know if I can take it.”

Other votes went to Breaking Bad, like from user ‘DananSan’ who said Breaking Bad. “Only because I’m afraid that I will ‘ruin how good it is in my memory,” they wrote. “Not that I think I won’t appreciate it, but I like the memory I have of the whole show.”

Others, however, went for shows that they couldn’t watch again because the ending proved a disappointment.

Several users went for Lost here, like ‘Tifoso89’, who wouldn’t watch again after being frustrated by the ending. They wrote: “They created all these cool mysteries, but then it became clear that the writers weren’t really planning anything and were just making up mysteries as they went along. Then they wrote themselves in a corner, and didn’t know how to finish the story. John Locke looked like he had some kind of purpose and then just dies…What’s the point of all those mysteries if there’s no payoff?”

And others on the thread went for Game Of Thrones, because of the ending” referencing how divisive it was to viewers.

An ending that did receive a lot of praise earlier this year was for Netflix’s Never Have I Ever following the show’s fourth and final season.

Created by Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher, the Netflix comedy-drama follows Indian American high school student Devi Vishwakumar (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan) who finds herself in a love triangle between Paxton Hall-Yoshida (Darren Barnet) and Ben Gross (Jaren Lewison).

Viewers, whose reactions you can read here, praised the show’s “perfect” ending, saying it couldn’t have been bettered. “The ending of Never Have I Ever was actually too good and Devi got her happy ending,” one viewer wrote.
