Two years after it debuted in 2022, The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power is back for a second season.
Created by J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay, the prequel series is set thousands of years prior to J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord Of The Rings and depicts the rise of Sauron in Middle-earth’s Second Age.
The show’s cast is led by Morfydd Clark as Galadriel, alongside Lenny Henry, Sara Zwangobani, Robert Aramayo, Benjamin Walker, Charles Edwards, Daniel Weyman, and Charlie Vickers.
New cast members in the second season include Ciarán Hinds, Rory Kinnear, Tanya Moodie, Ben Daniels, Stuart Bowman, Kevin Eldon, and Oliver Alvin-Wilson.
When is The Rings Of Power season 2 out on Amazon?
The first three episodes will be released on Thursday, August 29 at 8am BST in the UK. In the US, this translates to 3am ET/12am PT.
The remaining five episodes will be released weekly from this date, with the finale scheduled for October 3. You can check out the episode release slate below.

Has The Rings Of Power been renewed for season 3?

At the time of writing, Amazon hasn’t officially announced a third season. Showrunners J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay, however, have said they are ‘working on it’ internally.
“All we can say is, we’re working on it,” McKay told The Hollywood Reporter when asked about a third season in August 2024. “We’re cooking. Let us cook!”
